Problem/Requirements:

  • Within the Article Workbench, a product information system, the task of enriching thousands of articles with attributes and descriptive texts is undertaken.

  • Similar to a production line, an article goes through various stations before being published in the webshop. Occasionally, traffic jams may occur at certain stations, causing delays in the overall process.

  • The management requires an overview of the number of articles still in process, along with the status and development of each individual station. This allows for better monitoring and assessment of the overall progress of the workflow.

Solution:

  • A comprehensive dashboard with multiple subpages presents all the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in a clear and easily understandable format. This allows for efficient monitoring and evaluation of the performance metrics related to the article processing workflow.

  • Users have the ability to monitor the entire process, starting from the initial item ordering stage, through information enrichment, and up to the final publishing in the web store. This end-to-end visibility enables efficient tracking and oversight of the entire workflow.

  • The application provides the ability to check both current and past performance, allowing users to assess the progress and improvements over time. This comprehensive view offers valuable insights for analysis and decision-making.

  • To ensure optimal comprehensibility, the application clusters, filters, and sorts information differently based on the use case. Furthermore, various types of diagrams are employed to visualize the data, providing the most effective representation for enhanced understanding and analysis.
